What it does

Every discount, measured honestly

Not a coupon report. A promo ledger that measures each code's lift, the real cost, and what to do next.

Scored 0–100

Every promo rated on modelled lift vs. the margin it costs, so you can compare a 15%-off to a bundle on one honest scale.

Lift, net of returns

Units above an 8-week baseline, minus the returns the discount pulled in — a directional read, not gross sales on the code.

Full cost-stack P&L

Each code's contribution is net of COGS, fees, shipping, and returns. The margin you actually kept, not the revenue it moved.

What to run next

Suggestions come from your live stock position: promote what's deep, protect what's about to stock out.

Every code, in one ledger

Retrospective and live promos in a single view, ranked by efficiency, with the margin leaks flagged before you repeat them.

Forecast-guarded

The plan never promotes a SKU that's about to run out. The demand forecast guards the calendar.

The promo ledger

Every code, ranked by what it kept.

See each promotion's lift, returns, and verdict side by side. The efficient repeats and the margin leaks, sorted so the honest winners rise and the discount that outran its margin is obvious.

  • Lift and returns per code, with an efficiency verdict.
  • Margin leaks flagged. The 30%-off that returns erased.
  • Retrospective and live promos in one view.

The full loop

Measure the promo, then act on it.

Most tools stop at a coupon report. Sellcast ties each promo back to the stock that triggered it and forward to the next move, so measurement turns into the buy, the protect, or the markdown it implies.

  • Net of returns, Lift and contribution are always after the returns the discount pulled in.
  • Full cost stack, COGS, fees, shipping and returns. The margin you actually kept.
  • Closes the loop, The stock position drives the promo; the result drives what's next.

FAQ

Promote, answered

How do you calculate lift?

We compare units sold during the promo window against an 8-week baseline adjusted for seasonality, then subtract the returns the discount pulled in. It's a directional store-window read, not a clean per-cohort causal estimate — but net of returns, it's a far better signal than the gross sales on the code.

What goes into the promo score?

A 0–100 rating of modelled lift against the margin the discount gives up, net of returns and the full cost stack. It lets you compare a 15%-off, a bundle, and a 30%-off on one honest scale instead of three different reports.

Can it measure past promos, or only new ones?

Both. Connect your discount history and Sellcast builds a retrospective ledger; new promos are then measured live as orders and returns land.

Does it run the promotion for me?

It recommends the promo and scores it against your margin; you create the code in Shopify. Automatic discount creation is on the roadmap. It won't launch anything on its own, and it won't promote a SKU your forecast says is about to stock out.

Does it plug into email or ads?

Not yet. Klaviyo and other channels are on the roadmap, marked coming soon. Today Sellcast measures and scores the promo and recommends the discount; creating the code in Shopify and the campaign send stay in your own tools.
