What it does
The overstock exit, done on the numbers
Not a blanket 40%-off. A gated markdown that knows your real cost and the best way out.
Margin-floor gate
The gate holds the moment a discount would sell below your full cost. No markdown quietly goes underwater.
Deepest markdown that clears
Sellcast finds the largest discount that still recovers cost, so you move stock without giving away margin you didn't mean to.
Aging visibility
Inventory bucketed by age, with the cash trapped in 60- and 90-day-plus stock flagged before it becomes a write-off.
Every exit costed
Markdown, bundle, wholesale, or write-off. Each route ranked by the contribution it recovers per unit.
Recover, don't write off
Turn dead stock back into working cash instead of a year-end loss. The recovery is a real in-product number.
Full cost-stack P&L
Per-unit economics on COGS, fulfillment, and overhead, so every markdown decision is made on true contribution.

Why it's different
Clearing overstock the old way vs. Sellcast

FAQ
Liquidate, answered
How does the margin floor work?
You set the floor; Sellcast checks every markdown against your full landed cost: COGS, fulfillment, and overhead. The gate holds the instant a discount would sell below cost, so nothing goes underwater without your explicit call.
How deep a markdown does it recommend?
The deepest one that still clears your real cost. Instead of a round-number sale, it finds the largest discount that recovers cost, moving stock while keeping the most contribution possible.
What exit routes does it consider?
Markdown, bundling with a hero SKU, a wholesale lot, or (last resort) write-off. Each is costed on your margin and ranked by the contribution it recovers per unit.
Does it create the discount?
Not yet. It recommends the markdown depth, gates it at your margin floor, and tracks what you ran so it can grade the outcome — you create the discount in Shopify. Automatic Shopify discount creation is on the roadmap. The gate and your margin floor mean it never proposes selling below cost.
When should overstock hit the gate?
Sellcast flags it early, from aging and days-of-cover, so you act while margin remains, not after the post-holiday hangover when it's already a write-off.
